What is self-help therapy and how is it implemented?

Self-help therapy, also referred to as bibliotherapy, is utilized either as a supplementary approach to traditional therapy or as a standalone treatment. Generally rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles, self-help programs blend psychoeducation with skill-building, often involving assignments for practice. These programs involve individuals reading books or using computer applications to address psychosocial challenges. Some self-help programs incorporate limited interaction with a clinician, termed guided self-help, while others do not involve direct clinician contact, known as pure self-help.

We practice in Washington State.  Call and schedule an appointment and take the first step towards a healthier, happier you. We take weekend appointments if you are unable to have an appointment during the week.
